Resilience noun

The quality or fact of being able to recover quickly or easily from, or resist being affected by, a misfortune, shock, illness, etc.; robustness; adaptability. Elasticity; the power of resuming an original shape or position after compression, bending, etc. Oxford English Dictionary definition

My use of resilience is in regard to both personal ability to endure in the face of the ongoing problems that I explore in my work, and a reference to the nature of my textile medium, which can be manipulated, washed, repaired and embraced without significant damage to the work, due to its resilience. In addition I would like to think that the recognition of resilience in the work by the viewer, may encourage the harnessing of their own resilience.
